Annual Pumpkin Chuck Nov. 3 Stanbery Park

October 27th, 2012 No comments

Get ready to hurl at the annual Pumpkin Chuck

The annual Pumpkin Chuck at Stanbery Park will be from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday Nov. 3.

Stanbery Park is on the east side in Mount Washington at 2221 Oxford Ave.

This kid-friendly event is an eight year tradition.  There will be at least two trebuchets, vendors with food choices, bands providing entertainment, and carnival games.  Proceeds go toward park improvements.  Radio station WNKU will broadcast live from the event.

Cost to chuck a pumpkin is $3 or $5 to buy a pumpkin and have it chucked.

This Friday for Cinci2600 we are hosting our first CryptoParty, where the theme for the night is encryption. The event is free and open to the public (even the feds!) so feel free to stop by. I will be giving a short presentation on TrueCrypt, followed by a couple of short demonstrations. If you have a crypto tool that you would like to demonstrate, please bring it by.

The event is at 7pm, Friday Oct. 5th, at the Hive13 Hackerspace located at 2929 Spring Grove Ave. in Camp Washington. If the door is locked, please ring the bell.
