Tuesday March 11, 2014 at Hive13 – PhantomX Hexapod Robot Hacking

February 23rd, 2014 No comments

Join us at Hive13 this Tuesday, March 11, at 7:30pm for a ROBOT TAKEOVER!  We will be welcoming local software developer and robot hacker Carin Meier as our March 2nd-Tuesday guest speaker.

Carin will be showing off her PhantomX Hexapod, a frightening / awesome 6-legged walker from Trossen Robotics.  Hear the first-hand experiences of a new-comer to robotics on  building the kit from just plates, boards, and screws.  Carin will talk about the software to control it, and if everything goes well, she will also demonstrate running it via a laptop with Clojure.

Here is a teaser link to the first steps (towards world domination) taken by Carin’s hexapod: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUrZeJ39xjs

Members, guests, first-time-walk-ins, and those interested in learning more about this type of robot hacking are welcome to come to the meeting and this presentation, Tuesday, March 11, at 7:30pm.   (Find Us)
